2020 Children's Summer Art Program

We are happy to announce that we will be offering classes out-of-doors at Benedict Park  and Online this summer!

Here is the plan to keep everyone safe:

  • All classes will be either online or out-0f-doors at Benedict Town Park, 1768 Route 17K, Montgomery, NY 12549.
  • Park classes will be in the morning only.
  • Instructors will maintain a six foot distance from students at all times.
  • A parent or family member may be required to stay and assist younger children since the instructor will not be able to provide hands on assistance.  Follow along and have fun with your kid!
  • Students will be spaced out 6 feet or more for the duration of the class (unless they are from the same household).
  • Students and instructors will wear masks.
  • We will have hand sanitizer available.
  • We will have spray sanitizer for communal materials (if any are used).
  • We will NOT provide any refreshments as we have in the past, but there will be a break and we encourage everyone to bring a snack.
  • Students MUST have a water bottle or hydrating beverage with them when dropped off.

Due to the evolving situation with COVID 19, our plans for the summer may change.  Cancelled classes will be converted to credits or refunded upon request.  If you change your mind about attending one of our summer programs, let us know by the Friday before the program starts and we will either credit your tuition towards a future class or refund your money at your request.  Attend programs at your own risk; Wallkill River School is not responsible if you contract COVID 19.

We plan to start classes the week of July 13th .  We are adding classes as soon as we get confirmation from the instructors so check back soon!

Are you ready to play? Join us for a week of Nerf battles!  There are restrooms and shady areas, but you may want to spray your child with bug spray and sunscreen as needed. Children will be running around in the grass and sun, and playing energetic games. Please make sure they are wearing play clothes that can get dirty, and don’t be surprised if there is an skinned knee, bee sting, or bug bite, etc. These things happen and will be treated on the spot.

We will provide Nerf guns, safety glasses and darts, but kids are welcome to bring their own equipment if they use standard size darts (all darts are shared and communal).  Their names should be written on their personal items.

Your mask should be easily taken on and off so we recommend masks with long straps that go around the head and can be hung around the neck like a bandana.

Camp takes place rain or shine!  If it should happen to rain we have lots of fun activities to play under the shelter of the pavilion.
