Silvano has been painting and drawing throughout her life and became a collector of art and artifacts from around the world with an appreciation for diverse cultures during her travels. Since moving to the mid-Hudson Valley, she became a gardener and the magnificent natural surroundings rekindled her passion for painting.
With the encouragement of many accomplished painters in the area, Silvano’s evolution as a visual artist blossomed and her unique personal history in the arts comes together in her visual renderings. She was awarded the Mary Evelyn Whitehill Award for one of her watercolors (Two Trees in Arrow Park) and First Prize for her Pastel (Seventh Avenue South at Night) in Newburgh’s Mt. St. Mary “Artists on Campus” shows.
